Definition of Integrated Pest Management (IPM)

First avoid pesticide use altogether by planting the right plants. Since even organic pesticides can be hazardous, chemicals are used only as a last resort.

Pest problems are identified by examination of the plant foliage, with proper knowledge of area pests and damage. Monitoring is visual by visitations.
