Definition of Integrated Pest Management (IPM)
Implementing existing knowledge base to plant to improve habitat for all forms of life. Harvesting and/or storing the maximum biological potential of a site. Use of beneficial insects or cropping strategies to remedy "pest" problems. In severely degraded situations, use of temperature monitoring, if needed, hormonal lures and decoys. Finally, use of highly designed toxins in famine situations only.
How Pest Problems Are Identified
Pests are usually not part of my clients' problems.
