What is your definition of Integrated Pest Management (IPM)?

IPM describes a strategy towards pest control that utilizes the least invasive forms of intervention, from taking preventative steps (i.e., planting disease-resistant, native plants in appropriate garden locations) to deploying a "wait and see" approach to fostering the presence of additional predatory and beneficial insects (e.g., ladybugs, lacewings, etc.) and animals (i.e., birds), followed by the monitoring of such to determine effectiveness.

Is pest management performed on a specific schedule?
