What is your definition of Integrated Pest Management (IPM)?

Elimination of pests using alternative & nontoxic methods (ie caulking, exclusion, sealing, etc) with natural products used if and when threshold limits are reached, and only with EPA exempt products as a last resort.

 

Is pest management performed on a specific schedule?

Inspection and m onitoring is done monthly. All other work as-needed only.

How are pest problems identified?

By close and ongoing monitoring, using traps, glueboards, identification, duct tape, and other monitoring tools.

 

What practices do you use to prevent and/or control pests?

Exclusion, sealing, tape, trapping, landscaping, cement, repellants, vacuuming.

 

Do you use biological controls?

Enzymes and plant products are used.

Do you use borates?

No.

Do you use synthetic chemicals?

No. Eco-Smart biological products are available for customers who request them.

What are the top 10 pesticides you use/sell/recommend?

Glueboards, boric acid (limited), baby powder, vinegar, rosemary oil, clove oil, diatamaceous earth.

Less than one case per calendar year of aerosol enzymes, etc.

De-mulching, moisture control, pruning, wood removal, etc.

Do you use any physical or mechanical controls?

Duct tape for wall access, tin cat repeat traps (humane) for mice removal, putty, caulking compound.
