What is your definition of Integrated Pest Management (IPM)?

A decision-making process that anticipates and prevents pest activity and infestation by combining several strategies to achieve long-term solutions.

 

Is pest management performed on a specific schedule?

Pest management is performed biweekly, monthly, bimonthly, quarterly and occassionally annually. Inspection, monitoring and maintenance are conducted involving urban pest situations.

How are pest problems identified?

Pest problems are identified involving detailed inspections. Pest pressures are monitored pre and post management methods utilizing graphing procedures. Monitoring devices employed include: stickly traps, pheromone traps, mechanical traps, insect light traps and others.

What practices do you use to prevent and/or control pests?

Sanitation audits, cultural environment operational audits, exclusion practices, conducive condition reduction, delayed maintenance audits, monitoring, physical controls and mechanical controls.

 

Do you use biological controls?

Biorational, but not biological at this time. The future holds considerable promise for this method in urban pest management.

 

Do you use borates?

We utilize boric acid and Timbor for crack and crevice and spot treatment respectively.

Do you use synthetic chemicals?

CB80 (synthetic pyrethroid), Microcare (pyrethrins), Delta Dust (deltamethrin), Maxforce baits (hydramethylnon) and Demand CS (lambda cyhalothrin)

What are the top 10 pesticides you use/sell/recommend?

Boric Acid, Diatomaceous earth, Poison-Free, Advance Bait, Maxforce Baits, Drax Bait, Microcare, Delta Dust, plant soap and Demand CS.

If pesticides are used, how much are used per year of each?

Pesticides are used as a final type of control or management measure. Pesticides are applied only according to the label and observing all involuntary exposure potentials.

Does your company perform habitat modification?

Yes.We provide limited services and remand these activities to the client as part of consultative services. We would relocate a firewood pile.

We utilize vacuum cleaners and insect light traps. We utilize caulk and expansion foam for exclusion purposes.
