Tree care
consulting, natural organic tree and lawn care services, professional
witness for courtcases, soil management, tree preservation, and soil
rehabiltation after chemical pesticide applications. |
|
What
is your definition of Integrated Pest Management (IPM)? |
|
IPM has no
meaning. IPM needs to be redefined in court. |
|
Is pest management performed on a specific schedule? |
|
Most tree problems
are trouble in the rhizosphere. Insects and fungi are indicators
of other problems. |
|
How
are pest problems identified? |
|
Pests are not
a problem, they are signs of other problems. We do not treat signs,
we treat the system. |
|
What practices
do you use to prevent and/or control pests? |
|
Our goal is
not controling insects and/or fungi. Our goal is far more intense
than that. It is based on true biology. |
|
Do you
use biological controls? |
|
In a sense
we do, by proper mulching. |
|
Do you
use synthetic chemicals? |
|
What
are the top 10 pesticides you use/sell/recommend? |
|
We do not recommend
any. When we do, its Ivory dishsoap, tobacco juice or coffee grounds. |
|
If pesticides are used, how much are used per year of each? |
|
Does
your company perform habitat modification? |
|
Yes. Eco-art
nurselogs and soil management. We also do encourage bat houses, and
bird houses since these animals feed on |
|
Do you
use any physical or mechanical controls? |
|
What
type of fertilizers do you use/sell/recommend? |
|
Sustain - Natural
organic fertilizer, plant health care products, roots, composted tree
trimmings, composted leaver, nurse logs, certified organic spent mushroom
soil (Mother Earth Organic Mushrooms). |
|
What
do you usually use/sell/recommend for addressing: |
|
termites |
Remove chemically
altered wood. |
|
carpenter
ants |
Carpenter ants
help trees by controlling the moisture content by making galleries.
This helps stall the decay pathogen and thus helps the tree. |
|
fire ants |
They attack the
formosa termite. |
|
How do
you evaluate effectiveness of your pest management |
|
We do not have
a pest management program. We have soil management systems. We have
a systematic approach to the care of trees and lawns. We do landscape
enhancement. |
