JP McHale
Pest Management, Inc. is a leading innovator in the latest "ecologically
sensitive" pest management
techniques, centering on the concept of Integrated Pest Management
(IPM). Our trained professionals
are regularly schooled in residential and commercial pest control,
lawn care, and tree and turf applications.
We perform meticulous, thorough inspections, and can customize an
IPM program with your needs in
mind. Our staff includes two entomologists, a plant pathologist
and an environmental scientist. Our employees
enjoy structured, in house training that reflects our superior field
service. Our service is available
24 hours a day, seven days a week. |
|
What
is your definition of Integrated Pest Management (IPM)? |
|
IPM is a strategy
of keeping pest population levels below predetermined thresholds
through biological, cultural, and physical means, utilizing
the least toxic chemical methods as well. |
|
Is pest management performed on a specific schedule? |
|
90% of our
residential service is performed as an on-call basis. We offer a
maintenance program that gives the customer three exterior
perimeter inspections and applications, and unlimited interior applications
upon request. |
|
How
are pest problems identified? |
|
Pest problems
are identified by our trained and licensed applicators. If there
are insects that cannot be identified in the field, they are brought
in-house and identified by our on staff Board Certified Entomologist. |
|
What practices
do you use to prevent and/or control pests? |
|
We use monitors,
mechanical traps, exclusion, education and pesticides whenever necessary
to prevent or control pests. We use insect
growth regulators to control developing stages of various insects. |
|
Do you
use biological controls? |
|
Yes, we use
many borate-based products for the control of wood-boring beetles
and crawling insects. |
|
Do you
use synthetic chemicals? |
|
What
are the top 10 pesticides you use/sell/recommend? |
|
If pesticides are used, how much are used per year of each? |
|
Our methods
and amounts vary. We apply these materials by means of hand-operated
equipment and pump sprayers. |
|
|
Does
your company perform habitat modification? |
|
Yes. Primarily through
exclusion. We use wire, copper mesh, and insulating foam. We offer
suggestions to customers on a larger scale, but
do not participate in the work if it involves the skills of trained
artisans such as masons or carpenters. |
|
Do you
use any physical or mechanical controls? |
|
We use physical
and mechanical controls. For example, snap traps, live catch traps,
glue boards, screens, caulk and foam. |
|
What
type of fertilizers do you use/sell/recommend? |
|
What
do you usually use/sell/recommend for addressing: |
|
How do
you evaluate effectiveness of your pest management |
|
Continued growth
with a reduction in complaints relating to control and environmental
issues. |
