What is your definition of Integrated Pest Management (IPM)?

Using the most effective tools. Letting the customer know of the problems they have that can be changed to do away with a pest problem.

 

Is pest management performed on a specific schedule?

Whatever fits the need to keep pests out of their buildings. We let the customer know what they can do to help us get rid of their pest.

 

How are pest problems identified?

If we don't know the identification of what it is, then the existing service does. We can usually identify pests by looking at them, computer programs or the state of Illinois department of agriculture.

 

What practices do you use to prevent and/or control pests?

Baits; sprays; insecticides; have customers remove the source of the problem.

Do you use borates?

TimBor and boric acid are used for treating wood in most of the termite & ant treatments.

Do you use synthetic chemicals?

Cypermethrin (Premise and Demon), cyfluthrin, ficam and pyrethrins.

What are the top 10 pesticides you use/sell/recommend?

Cypermethrin, cyfluthrin and pyrethrins.

If pesticides are used, how much are used per year of each?

Most are applied with a gallon sprayer. Granuals with a spreader.

Does your company perform habitat modification?

Yes. We advise the removal of things that cause problems.

Do you use any physical or mechanical controls?

These include live traps and removal of debris.

It could be better. Termite treatment by the industry is not the best.
