of our customers, and their children and pets. |

What
is your definition of Integrated Pest Management (IPM)? |
IPM involves identifying the pest, observing
the level of pest presence, finding the conditions conducive to pest
presence, and modifying the environment to eliminate the pest. |
Is pest management performed on a specific schedule? |
Pest management is scheduled depending
on the customer. For residential service, we provide a yearly service,
as our natural products are effective for a year. Commercial accounts
receive a monthly inspection, with treatment as necessary based on
thresholds observed with pheromone traps. |
How are pest problems identified? |
Staff has knowledge of pest biology to
identify and control pests. |
What practices
do you use to prevent and/or control pests? |
We point out the pest conducive conditions
to the customer. Next, we or the customer can provide the necessary
modifications to solve the pest problem. For example, if a customer
has mulch against their home, this is a conducive condition for pests
to enter the home when it rains. |
Do you
use biological controls? |
Yes,
we have used nematodes and ladybugs. |
Yes. Timbor is used as a preventive and
control technique in new construction for termites. Borates in powder
form can also be used in cracks and crevices of existing structures.
Boric acid in a crystallized form (non-volatile as opposed to powder)
is used in carpet for flea control. |
