What is your definition of Integrated Pest Management (IPM)?

IPM involves identifying the pest, observing the level of pest presence, finding the conditions conducive to pest presence, and modifying the environment to eliminate the pest.

Is pest management performed on a specific schedule?

Pest management is scheduled depending on the customer. For residential service, we provide a yearly service, as our natural products are effective for a year. Commercial accounts receive a monthly inspection, with treatment as necessary based on thresholds observed with pheromone traps.

How are pest problems identified?

Staff has knowledge of pest biology to identify and control pests.

What practices do you use to prevent and/or control pests?

We point out the pest conducive conditions to the customer. Next, we or the customer can provide the necessary modifications to solve the pest problem. For example, if a customer has mulch against their home, this is a conducive condition for pests to enter the home when it rains.

Do you use biological controls?

Yes, we have used nematodes and ladybugs.

Do you use borates?

Yes. Timbor is used as a preventive and control technique in new construction for termites. Borates in powder form can also be used in cracks and crevices of existing structures. Boric acid in a crystallized form (non-volatile as opposed to powder) is used in carpet for flea control.
