What is your definition of Integrated Pest Management (IPM)?

IPM is a three-step process: sanitation, exclusion, and only as a last resort, if at all, use of pesticides. Pests are a symptom - fix the problem and the symptom will go away.

 

Is pest management performed on a specific schedule?

We provide quarterly service though our program course.

How are pest problems identified?

We have a 64-point checklist to inspect and identify. An overall view of our method is to inspect exterior, interior, attic, crawlspace and garage. Next identy three sources of the pest in each space: the conditions for harborage, the avenues for insects to enter the structure, and sources of insect infestation.

What practices do you use to prevent and/or control pests?

Installation of monitoring stations, pheromone traps, and glue boards. Trimming trees back from the structure, caulking and sealing holes and cracks.

 

Do you use biological controls?

Bioblast, nematodes, pheromone traps.

 

Do you use borates?

Yes.

Do you use synthetic chemicals?

None, aside from the non-volatile pesticides used in termite bait stations.

d-limonene, boric acid, diatomaceous earth, termite bait stations, which use sulfluramid in non-volatile form.

1000 pounds boric acid; minimal pesticides for bait stations.

Does your company perform habitat modification?

Habitat modification includes sealing up for squirrels; exclusion for ants, mice; as well as cleaning, vacuuming, sealing.

Caulk, steel wool, bronze wool, backer rod (a foam tubing), sweeps for spiders.
