Gateway on Pesticide Hazards and Safe Pest Management

Go to the Gateway
View the Gateway in Internet Explorer.
Firefox and Safari users will experience problems (sorry). We are working to correct this.

Beyond Pesticides has created a new database tool that is intended to provide decision and policy makers, practitioners and activists with easier access to current and historical information on pesticide hazards and safe pest management, drawing on and linking to numerous sources and organizations that include information related to pesticide science, policy and activism. The Gateway on Pesticide Hazards and Safe Pest Management, now in its first phase, will be expanded and streamlined as more information, resources and links are attached to the site. We are inviting ideas and suggestions on the inclusion of additional information and links. If you have reports, factsheets, databases, articles, commentary that you think should be made available through the Gateway, please send them to gateway@beyondpesticides.org.

Currently, the Gateway lists 81 chemicals and has 8 categories of information: chemical name, factsheet and popular product and manufacturer names; chemical class; pesticide uses and information on less and non-toxic alternatives; toxicity rating; health and environmental effects; regulatory status; other information (brochures, factsheets, databases, websites, etc.); and, key studies. Beyond Pesticides ChemWatch factsheets must be read in conjunction with the Health and Environmental Effects chart in the Gateway (or see printer-friendly version). Factsheets are undergoing constant revision.

We look forward to hearing from you and working with you to ensure that the Gateway contributes to increased effectiveness in moving to the adoption of pest management policies and practices that better protect health and the environment.
