I lost 5 pets including my cat and my companion dog when my landlords sprayed 2,4-D acid and something else on the weeds in the yard. I was not notified at all. When I moved in I asked them never to spray chemicals anywhere around. My son had to be rushed to the ER,could not breath.I am still grieving the loss of my best dog ever. I called the local health dept.,they did nothing. The state decided to drop the investigation due to no definative evidence. The landlords even admitted to spraying the pesticides. They broke federal laws, storing improperly, tearing off the labels, which I have pictures of,and the guy who sprayed the stuff was not wearing any protective gear. He did not look well last I saw him,and the next tennants got very ill also. My health has not been good. We have all since moved away, but I worry about the long term affects. What can I do? The Co. state dept. of health and environment just recently sent a letter saying they were not going to investigate any further. My vet has records. My other dog was paralised for weeks, and the other one has tumors on him. They both lost 30-40 lbs.while we lived there and have since gained the weight back. They did most likely ingest the chemicals. I had thrown some popcorn out on the grass for the birds. I found a few dead birds, and suddenly most of the frogs were gone as well. Maybe you can help, I did try contacting you when all this was going on.When I put the rats out to clean their cages, they became ill and died within an hour of each other.
