She helped oversee the spraying of a canceled organophosphate, Dibrom 14, by telling the community it was “a safe solution to the threat of West Nile”. The breast cancer rates increased that year, remained high the following year, then rose again the next year. DDVP is in Dibrom 14, and is one of the breakdown products. DDVP is shown to cause breast tumors in animals.
