It is ashame and sad for this latest ruling. I am a medical practitioner in South Africa, experiencing the very same symptoms and see it in my patients. I have proof of the effects of orgonophosphate and carbamate exposure to residents living close to agricultural activities. We live in an intensive agricultural area. Another proof we have is the water in the rivers in this area, that are heavily polluted with agrochemicals, which means it is in the air, water, food and ends up in our bodies.

Appeals judges don’t read the Lancet

It is sad that they used Ms. Downs lack of credentials to discount the point she was making.

There are scientific publications making this same point from people who DO have qualifications on this topic.

One example is this paper from Dr. Hermona Soreq, et. al. showing effects of exposure to organophosphate pesticides from living near sprayed fields:

I hope that Ms. Downs and others like her who are exposed to these chemicals are ultimately successful at achieving changes to give them a greater level of protection.
