My family don't have any cancer history - my parents are still living strong in their 80s, yet my elder brother was diagnosed with liver cancer four years ago, now I have just been diagnosed with breast cancer. Both cases broke out when we were aroung 45. Tracing back for common factors that both my brother and I shared, I can't help but believe that DDT is the one.

We grow up in the same environment until I was 16 in China in 1978. During the summer, DDT was frequently sprayedd in our home(bedroom, kitchen,..). Doors and windows would be closed for about 45 minutes. Then we would open the window for some minutes before going in. I recall, the rooms were stil full of strong DDT smell, yet we went to bed to sleep.
Further, my dad grew grapes in the yard right in front of the door. Frequently he had to spay pesticide on the grape vine. I remember having to hold my nose in the house when the spraying was going on. My brother, as a teenager, helped him spraying sometimes. After a few days, we would pick the grapes to eat. I don't recall we washed the grapes because they looked so "clean."
