Bud, the highly educated grad student, spouts the propaganda of a highly trained Monsanto salesman. I happen to be a dumb construction worker, who sees beyond his lack of proof defense.
Any gardener or farmer with half a brain can figure out if you control the ''seed '' you control the farmer. The reality is that some farmers are forced into growing gmo’s, some see easy money, some are being lied to, and others just don’t care. Millions of people smoke and drink so it must be okay for you also.
How much have organic sales increased over the last 10 years?
His comment about Austrian scientists smacks of nationalism and drips with superiority. But what if biotech really is about ‘’control’’. Bud says ‘’data proves that GMO’s save money and time”, but he doesn’t say whose data. Monsanto’s?
What about the ethics of ‘’seed’’ and “trait” ownership? By what right does anybody, including Monsanto, claim ownership to generation after generation of plant life? I know the strongest argument put forth by GMO pushers is that we need it to feed all the starving people, but this is in fact it’s weakest argument because the people cannot save or propogate their own crops. They will starve if they cannot pay Monsanto for more seed.

To date all of the hang wringing over GE crops have produced very little in the way of scientific proof that these crops are dangerous to humans or the environment. To wit, this article relies on an Austrian study...wow the zenith of modern day science Austria.....

The reality is as this article points out 12 million and counting every year more farmers use these crops. Why - are they all dumb or zombies for Monsanto? No they work, save money, time and pesticides.

I often hear the same repeated claims that GE encourages more use of pesticides but this is so patently false as the data is out there shows these crops reduce the amount of pesticides. Duh thats why you put BT in soybeans to skip an insecticide application.

Here is a voice in the wilderness of a highly educated grad student who writes about the falsehoods and realities of these economically important products.
